-Made usually only around Christmas time, turdulli are bite-size deep-fried southern Italian wine cookies coated in honey with sprinkles.

-For me, they are more than a holiday treat they are my favorite memory with my Nonna. This was my first year making them without her which was bittersweet. Growing up, we made them together around Christmas, side by side, filling the kitchen with the scent of frying dough and honey. Each batch carries tradition, family, and love passed down through generations. 🤍

Today I had the honor of doing my first pop-up at CycleBar Monroe for their Breast Cancer Awareness Ride, where 100% of the proceeds from my cookies were donated to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation in support of breast cancer education and awareness. 💝

The class was about showing up for each other, and that’s exactly what today was about. Hailey, our amazing instructor, shared her story of how breast cancer touched her life through her mom, a survivor. Watching her lead this ride with such strength and grace, surrounded by her family riding in support reminded me how many of us carry these stories. So many of us have watched someone we love fight this battle.

And today, we weren’t just riding or selling cookies, we were standing together, loving harder, and showing up for something so much bigger. And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any more special… my Nonno showed up for
me. 🥹 He surprised me at my cookie table.

There was so much love in that room today. So much hope. So much community. I’m really, really grateful to have been a part of it. 💗

My love for baking started young. My biggest inspirations were the incredible women in my life: my Nonna, her sister Michelina, and Nora, a grandmother figure to me. Every Christmas, my Nonna and her sisters would make Calabrese Turdilli wine cookies coated in honey and sprinkles. During Easter, Nora and I would bake traditional Italian pies.
