Hi! I’m Alessia, the heart and hands behind Alessia’s Cookies. I’m 22 years old and based in Monroe, Connecticut, where I grew up surrounded by an Italian family, tradition, and lots of good food. I graduated from Masuk High School in 2022 and began my college journey at the University of Scranton, and since transferred to Sacred Heart University in where I continue pursuing my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher.

I’ve always been a creative person, and that creativity shows up not only in the classroom but also in the kitchen. My love for baking started young​. My biggest inspirations were the incredible women in my life: my Nonna, her sister Michelina, and Nora (Mia), a grandmother figure to me. They were always in the kitchen, feeding and nurturing our family with love through food. Every Christmas, my Nonna and I make Calabrese Turdilli which are crunchy wine cookies coated in honey and sprinkles. They’re still my favorite holiday treat. During Easter, Nora and I would bake traditional Italian pies like pizza rustica, wheat pie, and rice pie. Helping her with those special recipes is a memory I cherish deeply.
